If there’s one thing you can say about him, it’s that he’s discreet. Alongside his hairdressing business, Fred – a French hairdresser whose reputation precedes him – has launched a blog that discusses the world of hair without letting it go to his head, so to speak. On the blog, he shares his advice, inspirations and hair styling ideas in a voice that is as charming as it is fresh and modest.

Promising beginnings

Having always been passionate about the industry, Fred began his career in one of Jacques Dessange’s hair salons. His career took an unexpected turn upon meeting John Nollet, favored hair stylist of Vanessa Paradis. His new mentor took him by the hand and introduced him to the world of French cinema. With ambition, vision and several years experience under his belt, Fred dove into the deep end and decided to take on the United States.

For more than a year, Fred appeared at fashion shows, exclusive soirées and cocktail parties, garnering the respect of the upper crust of the hair industry. The high point of his career? When Mélanie Laurent entrusted him with her superb hairstyle, while on a world tour to promote Quentin Tarantino’s film Inglorious Bastards.

Hairstyles accessible to everyone

Fred’s personality is reflected in his hairstyles: simple, never over the top, but relaxed and natural. The hairdresser himself doesn’t say it often enough: he is not a fan of too much hair product. He prefers to break down the sophisticated looks found in glossy beauty magazines. On his blog, he regularly posts tutorials and haircut ideas for every day. Our favorite post of his? Lisa’s fringe, discussing the bangs of the blogger behind Make My Lemonade.
